The Samson International Smart Mobility Summit 2026- Elon Musk
English Recap:
Between Musk's Promises and My Green Utopia
Lately, one image keeps replaying in my mind. A young woman sits cross-legged on a sofa, a cat asleep on her lap, her fingers gliding across a translucent screen. Outside, green buildings climb skyward, a light rail glides silently over the treetops, and a humanoid robot waters the plants on the balcony.
This is roughly the future Elon Musk described at a smart-mobility summit in Tel Aviv. Within a decade, he claims, AI will handle ninety percent of all driving, while Neuralink already lets paralyzed people operate devices with their thoughts. When machines outperform us at every task, he argues, the global economy could grow a hundredfold.
Admittedly, Musk's record of overpromising is far from clean; his self-driving deadlines have slipped for years. His vision also rests on chips, cooling, and power — precisely what Taiwan has quietly built for decades, and where my own livelihood lies.
So my interest is partly practical. Yet what truly draws me in is the green. Once driving and labor no longer need us, cities might finally return their space to people and animals. I cannot say whether such a utopia is possible, but I deeply hope it is.
