Expired (adj.) 過期的(食品、藥品) I found an old bottle of medicine in the cabinet, but it had expired two years ago, so I threw it away.  我在櫥櫃裡發現一瓶放很久的藥，但它已經過期兩年了，所以我就把它丟掉了。  2. Out of date 過時的、過期的 (產品、資訊) The software we're using at the office is so out of date that it no longer supports the latest security updates.  我們辦公室使用的軟體太過時了，已經無法支援最新的安全性更新。  3. Lapse (v.) 失效、期滿 (會員、保險、合約) The company's patent lapsed because they failed to file the renewal paperwork before the deadline.  這家公司的專利因未能在期限前提交續期文件而失效。  4. Overdue (adj.) 逾期的 The rent payment was overdue by almost a month, so the landlord sent a formal notice asking for immediate payment.  房租已經逾期將近一個月，因此房東發出正式通知，要求立即付款。  5. Invalid (adj.) 無效的(票券、密碼、文件) The professor argued that the study's conclusions were invalid because the sample size was far too small.  教授認為這項研究的結論並不成立， 因為研究樣本數太少。
