不過你知道除了票券之外，竟然還有「搶手貨」的意思嗎？

1. hot ticket 搶手貨
😎：I need to go get the newest Pokemon game, it’s a hot ticket.
😵：How can a CD be a ticket? ( CD 就是 CD，怎麼會當成票啦？)
Hot 通常為「熱」的意思，此外也有「熱門、搶手」之意，hot ticket 起初用在表示體育競賽的某比賽非常熱門，而後延伸為各種受歡迎的事物的意思。
📍實用例句：
真不敢相信 Nancy 成為了青少年間的搶手貨。
I can’t believe Nancy became a hot ticket among teenagers.
2. just the ticket 正合我意
😎：Thanks a lot, that’s just the ticket.
😵：Dude, that’s a USB not a ticket. ( 老兄，那是隨身碟不是票好嗎！)
Just 為「剛好、只是」，the ticket 在這裡並不是常見的「車票、票券」，而是用來比喻「正好所需要的物品」，延伸為正合我意的意思。
📍實用例句：
下雪的天來杯熱巧克力正合我意。
A cup of hot chocolate is just the ticket on a snowy day.
3. get one’s ticket punched 被殺掉
😎： Have you heard the news? Jason got his ticket punched when he was waiting at the bus stop.
😵： I thought he got shot, how can a ticket kill someone? (我以為它是被射殺的，票也可以殺人？)
Punched 為 punch 的過去式代表「被打、揍」的意思，若是單看 ticket punched 則有「剪票」的意思。而這個俚語來自美國，白話來說就是人生的票券被剪掉了，也就是「死亡、被殺掉」的意思。
