這次來到 北科 MIT 城市科學實驗室,近距離觀看城市模型、即時數據分析與 AI 模擬系統如何被整合在同一個空間裡。
從螢幕上的人流、交通、區域分布,到實體城市模型上的光影投射,我們看到的不只是科技展示,而是一種新的設計方法:
用 data 理解城市,用 simulation 預測需求,再回到人的生活尺度中做設計判斷。
對郡宇願設計來說,室內設計不只是把空間做漂亮,更重要的是理解「人如何使用空間」。
無論是住宅、商業空間,或未來的城市生活型態,設計都需要更精準地回應使用者行為、動線、環境與資源配置。
AI 不會取代設計的溫度, 但它會讓設計師更有能力看見過去看不見的問題。
這次參訪也讓我們重新思考: 未來的設計,會越來越需要跨域整合——
Architecture × Interior Design × AI × Urban Data 讓設計不只停留在單一空間,而是能連結生活、城市與未來。

NTUT MIT City Science Lab Visit|Seeing the Next Step of AI and Urban Design
This time, we visited the NTUT MIT City Science Lab to take a closer look at how urban models, real-time data analysis, and AI simulation systems are integrated within one space.
From pedestrian flow, traffic patterns, and regional distribution shown on the screens, to the light projections on the physical city model, what we saw was not just a technology showcase, but a new design methodology:
Using data to understand the city, using simulation to predict future needs, and then returning to the human scale to make thoughtful design decisions.
For Jun Yu Yuan Design, interior design is not only about creating beautiful spaces. More importantly, it is about understanding how people use space.
Whether in residential design, commercial spaces, or future urban living environments, design must respond more precisely to user behavior, circulation, environment, and resource allocation.
AI will not replace the warmth of design,
but it will empower designers to see problems that were once invisible.
This visit also inspired us to rethink the future of design:

Allowing design to move beyond a single space and connect life, the city, and the future.
