連接詞題在 Part 5 每回都有三四題，難的地方不是字義，而是「後面接子句還是名詞」和「邏輯是哪一種」。整理 12 題，括號裡是三個選項和答案，先遮住自己選選看，每題附一句判斷方法。 1. Please call me ___ you arrive at the airport.（as soon as / so that / in case → as soon as） 「一……就」用 as soon as，後面接子句。 2. The order cannot be shipped ___ the invoice is paid in full.（unless / whether / so that → unless） 「除非」用 unless，等於 if not。 3. Mr. Tanaka has not decided ___ he will attend the conference.（whether / that / unless → whether） 「是否」用 whether；that 沒有「是否」的意思，unless 是「除非」。 4. Bring an umbrella ___ it rains during the tour.（in case / so that / even if → in case） 「以防」用 in case，後面接現在式子句。 5. The store extended its hours ___ customers could shop after work.（so that / in order to / because of → so that） 後面是完整子句（customers could shop），用 so that；in order to 後面接原形動詞。 6. ___ the samples arrive, please inspect them for damage.（Once / Until / Since → Once） 「一旦」用 once，後面接子句。 7. Sales in Asia increased, ___ sales in Europe fell slightly.（whereas / despite / so → whereas） 兩件事對比用 whereas 或 while。 8. The flight was canceled ___ the storm.（because of / because / since → because of） 後面是名詞 the storm，用 because of；because 後面要接子句。 9. The office was closed ___ all employees were attending a training session.（because / because of / due to → because） 後面是子句（employees were attending），用 because。 10. The manager was ___ pleased with the results that she gave everyone a bonus.（so / such / too → so） so + 形容詞 + that；such 後面接名詞（such a good result that）。 11. Applicants must submit ___ a résumé and a cover letter.（both / either / neither → both） 看到後面的 and 就是 both；or 配 either，nor 配 neither。 12. ___ the manager nor her assistant was available to take the call.（Neither / Either / Both → Neither） 看到 nor 就是 neither；動詞跟最近的主詞一致（her assistant → was）。 判斷順序：先看空格後面是名詞還是子句（名詞只能用 because of、due to 這類介系詞），再看邏輯是時間、條件、對比還是因果，最後才看配對（both…and、either…or、neither…nor）。2、4、5 這三題最常互相搞混，建議放在同一張卡上，隔天、第三天、第七天各遮住答案考自己一次。 大家還有哪個連接詞一直選錯？留言告訴我，下一篇整理。
