Anne doesn't want to read boring stories.
（使用instead of合併句子）
我給的答案：
Anne wants to read funny stories instead of boring stories.
後來被糾正的答案：
Anne wants to read funny stories instead of reading boring stories.

不知是否因為不常使用（比較常用rather than 或prefer）而導致生疏；或是正解給的答案有誤呢？
