'Chris! I've missed you so so much!' Alexia jumped onto her brother as a few tears escaped from her eyes. He patted her head, smiling warmly as always. 'I've missed you as well lil bug,' Alexia was hugged tightly. She felt like home again.
'I brought a guest.' Alexia smiled wildly, 'Wait! Did you-'
'Mia, this is Alexia, my dearest sister. And A, this is my girlfriend, Mia.'
'Hi Mia! So nice to meet you! Well, I believe my brother has told you a lot about me.' Alexia took Mia's hand after she left out her hand. Mia laughed, 'He did, he talks A LOT 'bout ya but don't worry, those stories were quite interesting,' she winked.
Alexia has never seen her brother showing this much happiness on his face since Chris has never been in a serious relationship so far — or he didn't really believe in love, just like Alexia does not. Alexia has seen him with some women before, but those were always one-night thing. And right now, his brother seems so happy with this woman, she is truly happy for him.
For the following days, the house was filled with three of their laughters. Alexia no longer felt lonely after school, she was happy again, she found herself again. Although it did not last long, it were never enough like others own; however, it was enough for Alexia.
On the other side, there was no sign that Mrs. Blair was going to substitute the class again. Alexia somehow had that disappointment inside. Sometimes she'd see the woman show up in the hallway, and the gorgeous woman seemed so far away again.
Summer's coming soon. Everyone's excited about the vacation except Alexia, she wasn't at all. Memories were back again hunt her in the middle of the night, and she'd end up sobbing in bed. She barely slept, and she's afraid to face it alone.
'You look tired these days, Alex. Are you sure you're alright? I'm worried.' Mrs. Rose spoke with her concerning tone. She knew Alexia well, and she could tell there was something bothering her. However, she did not want to be pushy. 'Yes, I'm okay, Mrs. Rose. I just... have some trouble falling asleep lately,' she rubbed her eyes. 'There are some sofas over there right in the corner you know. If you need some rest, you always have my permission. And don't worry, there aren't many people coming to the library, I'll be fine here.' the old lady wore a small smile.
Alexia then could not hold it any longer. The tears kept rushing down her cheeks no matter how hard she tried to stop it. Mrs. Rose understood it, the girl who was standing right in front of her was so strong, yet she had so much to take. She gave her a small squeeze on the side of Alexia's shoulder because she knew there were nothing else she could do for her besides showing her support. Alexia left an apology as she rushed into the restroom. This time, there's no holding back. She cried herself silently because she did not want to be seen, and she did not need to be pitied. However, there seemed to be no ending. Everything was ramming as she felt like shattering into thousand pieces of splinters. She have been keeping herself together for so long, and she never had a serious break down like this time. She hates to be reminded of what she never wanted to memorize. She's scared of being hurt by them. But right now, what she's afraid of more is that she might hurt someone, anyone.
Mrs. Blair was in the toilet. A loud crash clashed and almost caused her a heart attack. She heard someone crying, and she wondered who the person was.
As soon as the woman walked out, a girl came into her view. Her face was buried into her palms resting on her knees. The girl looked so broken, so forlorn. Mrs. Blair could tell that the girl's falling apart, and the girl looked so familiar. She walked nearer and nearer and kneeled down beside the girl. Her light touch softly being placed on the girl's back. And slowly, the girl lifted her head up as the woman met the pair of dark, watery, puffy eyes-
