Where 當關副除了有這種用法： This is the “factory”.+I work in the “factory”. >This is the factory which I work in. >This is the factory ‘in which’ I work. >This is the factory ‘where’ I work. 還有一種用法： I was happy “in the place”.+I live “in the place”. >I was happy in the place which I live in. >I was happy in the place in which I live. >I was happy in the place where I live. >I was happy where I live. 之所以把in the place省略是因為有where就知道講地方了，in the place在這裡很沒必要。 就像I was sleeping when she got home.也可以講成，I was sleeping at the time when she got home.但是有沒有講at the time，意義上是沒有什麼大差別的。 你可以這樣想：「where=in the place where」，它就跟「what=the thing which」是一樣的道理，只不過which跟the thing合併起來後變成了長得不一樣的what，但是where跟in the place合併起來後卻恰巧跟原來的where長得一模一樣（但實質上已經是個不同的字了）。 我想你疑惑的點或許就是in the place被省略了，用以上的方式想應該可以比較明白。 （另外因為anywhere跟where一樣是副詞，所以不會直接等於名詞的any place, 而應該是”in/at” any place這個地方「副詞」片語。 你可想像成是in/at any place where>>anywhere where>>兩個where太冗，所以只講anywhere。這是我的解釋方法。）
