中文讀者請查看pinned comments One day before surgery: Got admitted to the hospital and had an IV put in. Drank the bowel-prep laxatives at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.—kinda sweet btw. Abt 20 mins later though, it was nonstop trips to the bathroom until basically nothing but water was coming out 💀. Then came the enemas: one at 9 p.m. and another at 5 a.m. POD 0: Went in for surgery at around 7:30 a.m. Once I got into the OR, the anesthesiologist gave me the anesthesia and almost immediately everything started feeling dizzy and hazy. Next thing I knew, it was 5 p.m. and surgery was already over. Woke up in a TON of pain down there—so bad I just started crying without even realizing it. Still super dizzy and groggy too. Went with the negative-pressure wound therapy option, so there was a wound vac hooked up to me afterward. Eventually got wheeled back to my room on the surgical bed. btw make sure your head is in a comfort position on the surgical bed or u will regret it. POD 1 Woke up this morning and saw a few blood drops getting sucked constantly through the wound-vac tubing... so far so good I would say, tbh I don't even feel intense pain anymore. and I can eat&drink normally. My mental state has improved dramatically. well it's 10pm right now and I'm waiting for the last dose of antibiotics today. Everything looks fine till now I would say. it's not painful on the bottom but a weird feeling and I couldn't describe that. POD 2 Woke up at 6 this morning, feeling much better now, the numbness on the fingers of the left hand has almost gone and now I can feel my bottom, probably. btw Dr. Hu checked my wound at Abt 7am, all goods. Okay. it's 8pm right now and I noticed that when flipping on the bed there's fresh red blood coming out of the NPWT tube, I contacted the surgeon and she said that this is expected, no worries. POD 3 another dose of dexamethasone this morning, still waiting for Dr. Hu. IV removed, 1208 Took my first dump after the surgery, 2332, isn't ideal tho. and I think I hurt my wound when doing that, probably. I'm gonna report that when tomorrow Dr. Hu comes so probably they can give it a check. POD 4 Nothing happened today, just recovering. POD 5 took 4 dumps tonight feeling like my whole body is drained. well at least the GI system started working normally again. now I'm just on my bed waiting to be discharged from the hospital on the next Monday. POD 6 everything looks fine now, ActiVac is still on and I figured out that every morning the pain will reach its maximum but relieved gradually later. it's a surprise that the Vac seal is still in effect, Dr. Hu and the teams surely did an excellent job on taking care of stuff like this. POD 7 Vac machine removed at 10:00 a.m. and tbh it's not a painful experience. all(vac tube and urinary catheter) are removed and I'm running my body by myself now. and for the first time this week my feet touched the ground with the help of my mom. it's pretty dizzy and hard to move freely without anyone assisting me. POD 8 I've been discharged from the hospital and this post will now be updated per week instead of per day.
